Global Hand Hygiene Day

The SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands global campaign, launched in 2009 and is celebrated annually on 5 May (World Hand Hygiene Day) Its aim is to maintain global promotion, visibility, and sustainability of hand hygiene in the health care industry. This year WHO is calling on all health care workers and facilities to achieve effective hand hygiene action in three specific areas: where the patient is concerned, the health care worker, and care or treatment involving contact with the patient or their surroundings.

This year Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital partnered with B. Braun Medical and Pharmaceuticals to provide awareness around Hand Hygiene protocols and the 5 Moments of Hand Hygiene during patient care.
