In South Africa, healthcare is a fundamental human right, and this principle was championed by our country’s most iconic figure: Nelson Mandela.
As a leader, and a visionary, Madiba believed that access to quality healthcare should be prioritised.
At Busamed, we share Madiba’s commitment to healthcare as a fundamental human right. We believe that the patients who walk into one of our seven hospitals nationwide, deserve access to the best possible medical care, and we are dedicated to providing that care to our patients.
We have incorporated Madiba’s stance on healthcare into our systems and operations. We are proud to say that our hospitals are a shining example of what can be achieved when healthcare is viewed as a basic human right. This means that we not only treat your immediate medical needs, but we also take into account your overall experience and interactions while you are with us.
Here’s how Madiba’s legacy has shaped our service to you:
Online Pre-admissions: Busamed is proud to offer a wide range of services in-house, but did you know that you can also do your pre-admission online? Should you wish to complete and submit your documents at your own convenience, you may complete the online pre-admission form on our website and submit your supporting documents. We kindly request that this is sent 72 hours before your admission to ensure that there is enough time to capture your details and to contact you should we require any other information.

Events: Overcoming a medical diagnosis is a major milestone. This is why throughout the year, we host events like our recent Cancer Survivors Day to build inclusion and a community of support around serious illness.
Patient Experience: We’ve received above 90% in our patient satisfaction surveys and this is testament to our hardworking clinical, administrative and support teams.
The fruit of our efforts has been seen from the heartwarming testimonials we receive on a daily basis, like this one from a patient who was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer.
We hope that this article has inspired you to turn to us in your time of need. We will continue to make quality, attentive healthcare a standard.
