Dr Matilda Mphahlele is a specialist dermatologist qualified and experienced in treating both pediatric and adult dermatology. She graduated with a medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. After completing her internship and community service training, she started preparing for her journey in dermatology.
She obtained a diploma in HIV management from the College of Medicine South Africa (CMSA). She also obtained a diploma in Tropical Medicine Diseases and Hygiene (DTM&H) from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Dr Mphahlele was then offered an opportunity to specialize in dermatology at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH), which is affiliated with Wits University. She is a fellow in the college of dermatologists. She has a Masters in dermatology obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand, where her focus was on children with eczema (Atopic Dermatitis).
During her training at Wits, Dr Mphahlele was involved in undergraduate teaching for 5th and 6th year medical students. Dr Mphahlele also has an interest in aesthetic medicine, trained through the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). After working at the 4th largest hospital in the world (CHBAH) for 6 years, Dr Mphahlele then started her career as a private dermatologist.
