Medical Aid Patients
Busamed Gateway is contracted to most medical schemes. Medical aid schemes differ in payment restrictions and benefits. We recommend that you familiarise yourself with what is and is not covered by your medical aid prior to your admission. This will help you understand your hospital bill and how much of it will be paid by your medical aid.
To assist you, our well-trained case managers will work together with your medical aid and treating specialist to ensure the most cost-effective treatment is provided.
After discharge, medical aid accounts are submitted directly to the medical aid scheme. If the medical aid scheme does not pay the hospital in full, the member will be required to settle the difference.
Medical aid co-payments are required to be paid on, or prior to, admission.
Patients requiring copies of their accounts for Gap Cover claims can email bgphinfo@busamed.co.za to receive a copy of their account.
There are three main payment methods:
Major Debit/Credit cards
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
Cash
A deposit on admission is required from private patients. The amount will depend on the procedure and full settlement of the account must be made on discharge
Services provided by your Specialist, Anaesthetist, Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Radiologist and other healthcare professionals are not included in your hospital bill and will be invoiced separately.
The following methods of payment are accepted at Busamed Gateway Private Hospital
