Ample parking is available for patients and visitors on three floors in the Medical Centre located opposite the Hospital main entrance. For security purposes, vehicle drivers will be issued with a parking card by the guard at the boom gate on the Hospital driveway. Parking is free, but the parking card must be returned at the exit boom.

Patients are permitted to use the convenient drop off area at the Hospital entrance where they can also request a wheelchair if they need one. Disabled parking is available in the parking area in front of the Hospital and in the Medical Centre.

Customers safety is a priority in the Hospital which is why the services of an outsources company are used to manage all security needs. Clear visible security staff are situated at strategic positions throughout the Hospital and the grounds. Although there are a range of security measures in place, including the use of CCTV cameras, security staff, and electronic access control systems for doorways, the Hospital remains an accessible space. For this reason, your partnership in keeping your valuables safe is required. Busamed Gateway Private Hospital cannot be held responsible for any losses or damages that may occur on the premises.

Busamed Gateway Private Hospital is fully committed to preparing and serving food of uncompromising freshness and quality. In consultation with registered dietitians, menus have been designed to provide patients with nutritious and well-balanced meals.

The Hospital has a retail pharmacy on the ground floor your convenience. The pharmacy supplies prescription medication as well as a range of toiletries and gifts. When you are discharged please advise the staff if you would like your take home medication to be issued by the Busamed Gateway Pharmacy, or if you would prefer to take you script to your pharmacy of choice.

Please be advised that medical aid schemes have rules governing the quantity of take home medication that can be issued, and what levies will be applied. Chronic medication cannot be issued from hospital benefits.

Busamed Gateway is conveniently situated in the vibrant Umhlanga Ridge area. Umhlanga Ridge is designed as a safe and convenient environment connected by a series of pedestrian-friendly roads and parks. Public spaces are laid out to facilitate on-street parking and easy traffic flow.

The Hospital is only a stone’s throw away from Gateway Theatre of Shopping, so there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The Regal Inn Hotel is directly across the road from the Hospital, and there are numerous other hotels and bed and breakfast facilities in the area. Umhlanga beach is a five-minute drive from the Hospital, amd King Shaka International Airport is only 12 minutes away.
Umhlanga Ridge has easy access to a network of major roads including the N2 which allows easy access to Durban to the south, and Ballito to the north.

In accordance with the Tobacco Products Control Amendment Act, 2007, Busamed Gateway Private Hospital is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is prohibited on the Hospital premises at all times.
