Dr Fourie is a specialist surgeon that further specialised in the field of colorectal surgery in Johannesburg. She holds a sub-specialist qualification in surgical gastroenterology from College of medicines of South Africa.

Dr Fourie did both her undergraduate and registrar training at the University of Pretoria. She spent some time working in the United Kingdom doing general surgery. Dr Fourie completed sub-specialist training in surgical gastroenterology in Johannesburg-Wits University.

She provides treatment for diseases affecting gastro-intestinal system, colon and rectal cancers, pelvic floor disorders(recto-vaginal fistula, faecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse), inflammatory bowel disorders and proctology. Dr Fourie is a trained laparoscopic surgeon and interventional endoscopist.
