Fourie is a specialist surgeon in the field of colo-rectal surgery and holds a sub-specialist qualification in surgical gastroenterology from College of Medicines of South Africa.
Dr Fourie, who will continue to support a public institution by maintaining her surgery at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, provides treatment for diseases affecting the gastro-intestinal system, colon and rectal cancers, pelvic floor disorders (recto-vaginal fistula, faecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapses), inflammatory bowel disorders and proctology.
She is a trained laparoscopic surgeon and interventional endoscopist. She was pivotal to a ground-breaking procedure performed earlier this year at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital.
