Cardiac arrhythmias are a growing public health problem globally. The prevalence of atrial fibrillation alone has increased significantly. Approximately 60 million people around the world are diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.
Early detection is vital for preventing complications from cardiac arrhythmias.
Public awareness campaigns of arrhythmias is essential to empower individuals to understand, detect and seek medical attention to treat effectively.
This year’s World Heart Rhythm Week theme is ‘One Heart, Many Rhythms: Awareness, Action, Advocacy’ – a call to take meaningful steps in support of the global heart rhythm disorder community
In celebration of World Heart week I urge one and all to check your pulse and “feel the beat”.
