Collections for our Winter Warmer and Child protection week campaigns held in the hospital over a few months were handed over to the Busamed Community Action project in Alexandra for distribution to the community households in need.
Busamed recently took over this NGO Community Action - a Street-Based Primary Health Model in Alexandra township. The launch event took place on 04 November 2019 and was held at the Alex Sankapano Resource Community Centre.
The venture and the Busamed collaboration with the Community Action Primary Health Model is a first for the Busamed Group.
The Alexandra community will benefit from this initiative and Busamed is excited to provide support to the project and to the community at large.
Community Action developed the Model over two years and it was piloted in 2800 households in Alexandra and Soweto. Monitored and evaluated professionally in 2007/8, it proved successful beyond expectations. Community involvement is however essential for success.
Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital is proud to take over this community based initiative in the neighbouring township of Alexandra and will continue to support the community upliftment.
