Busamed Harrismith Private Hospital is pleased to announce that the opening of our 20 bed Sub-Acute Mental Health Unit will commence from mid-June 2021. The need for Mental Health care has become more important than ever. Mental illnesses are classified as health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking or behavior or a combination of these. Disturbances in thinking, behavior, energy or emotion can make it difficult to cope with the ordinary demands of life. Accurate and medically approved treatment is a requirement. Untreated, mental illness can contribute to higher medical expenses, poorer performance at school and work, fewer employment opportunities and increased risk of suicide.
The Busamed Harrismith Private Hospital mental health unit will provide a medically equipped unit to treat mental and psychiatric illnesses. The unit will offer a safe and caring environment complemented by a specialised multidisciplinary team who are here to support patients with compassion and respect.
