Strength, Hope and Inspiration Shine at Breast Cancer Awareness Event

28 Oct 2026

In a heartfelt show of solidarity and support, Busamed Gateway Private Hospital, in collaboration with Busamed Oncology and Hopelands Cancer Centre, recently hosted a special Breast Cancer Awareness event aimed at inspiring hope, encouraging resilience, and celebrating the courage of those affected by cancer.

The event brought together breast cancer survivors, individuals currently undergoing treatment, family members, and those who have sadly lost loved ones to cancer. It provided a safe and supportive space for attendees to connect, share experiences, and draw strength from one another.

Guests were treated to informative and inspiring presentations by Dr Pramod Reddy, General Surgeon, and Dr Marion Algar, Oncologist, who shared valuable insights on breast cancer awareness, early detection, treatment advances, and the importance of maintaining a positive outlook throughout the cancer journey. Their informative talks empowered attendees with knowledge and reminded them that they are not alone in their fight.

Adding an interactive and uplifting element to the day, Lauren Poxon the Physiotherapist from HG Physio led a series of gentle exercises that were enthusiastically embraced by attendees. The session highlighted the importance of physical activity and wellness during and after cancer treatment, while bringing moments of laughter and enjoyment to the group.

Addressing the audience, Joelene Ranjit, Marketing Manager at Busamed Gateway Private Hospital, encouraged attendees to remain hopeful and Never Give Up, regardless of the challenges they may face.

"Cancer may change your journey, but it does not define who you are. Continue to embrace each day with courage, surround yourself with support, and never lose hope. Your strength is an inspiration to everyone around you," she said.

The event also featured numerous prize giveaways and pamper spoils, ensuring that every attendee felt appreciated, celebrated, and special. From thoughtful gifts to moments of personal care and connection, the day was designed to uplift and honour those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

The overwhelming message of the event was one of hope, resilience, and community. Through education, encouragement, and meaningful engagement, Busamed Gateway Private Hospital together with Busamed Oncology and Hopelands Cancer Centre reaffirmed their commitment to supporting individuals and families throughout their cancer journeys.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminds us, early detection saves lives, and no one should have to face cancer alone. Events such as these continue to inspire courage, foster support networks, and remind those affected that there is always hope, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
