Rheumatology is a branch of internal medicine concerned with immune mediated disorders. It involves musculoskeletal disorders including inflammatory arthritis e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, spondylo-arthritis, HIV related arthritis and gout, connective tissue disorders e.g. lupus, scleroderma and inflammatory myositis. Rheumatologists also manage pain syndrome-fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndromes
