Dr. Emmanuel Arko-Cobbah is a Senior Lecturer and Trauma Surgeon in the Department of Surgery at the University of the Free State. With a passion for advancing surgical care and education, he has made significant contributions both locally and internationally.
In October 2024, Dr. Arko-Cobbah was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS)—a prestigious recognition awarded after a rigorous global selection process. He was one of only 600 international candidates outside North America to receive this honour, highlighting his excellence in trauma surgery and commitment to global standards of care.
Dr. Arko-Cobbah completed a Surgical Leadership Programme at Harvard University, further enhancing his leadership and clinical expertise. He is deeply motivated to showcase the talent and capability of South African surgeons on the world stage and hopes his journey inspires others to dream big and pursue international recognition.
