He obtained a BSc degree at the University of Cape Town in 1996 and an MBChB degree from Walter Sisulu University in 2003. After completing his medical internship and community service, he worked as a medical officer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at Nelson Academic Hospital in the Eastern Cape. In 2014, he opened his own paediatric private practice. He returned to Pelonomi Tertiary hospital in 2019 and later transferred to Red Cross War Memorial Children’s hospital to train as a paediatric neurologist through the University of Cape Town and Colleges of Medicine, South Africa.
