Dr Pierre du Toit obtained his MBChB degree at the university of the Free State in 1995 after which he completed his internship at Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital. He thereafter was appointed Medical Officer in the same hospital and gained experience in general internal medicine and anaesthesiology.
In 1997 he completed a Honours Degree in Pharmacology (BSc Hons Pharm) at the university of Potchefstroom. He then was appointed as Registrar at the University of the Free State and completed his postgraduate specialist training in Internal Medicine.
Dr du Toit then joined private practice as specialist physician in Klerksdorp. He worked in Wilmed Park Private Hospital and Life Anncron Clinic from 2002 until 2015 where he gained experience in Intensive Care, diagnostic endoscopy and various sub-disciplines of internal Medicine.
Some of his many interests are hypertension, diabetes and the pharmacological management of cardiovascular risk.
Dr du Toit has attended many international seminars and workshops. He is also a member of the Faculty of Physicians of SA and a member of the American Society of Echo Cardiography.
