Dr. Robert Fraser has a particular interest in children’s orthopaedics, hip and knee replacement surgery, surgery for other knee conditions and foot surgery.
Dr. Fraser completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training at the University of Cape Town. He then spent a year in Melbourne, Australia on a Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship with Mr. Malcolm Menelaus.
He returned to private practice in Durban in 1992 and has attended numerous courses on his specific areas of interest both nationally and internationally. He is a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association, South African Arthroplasty Association, South African Foot and Ankle Association and South African Paediatric Orthopaedic Association.
Mr Fraser is a Past President of the South African Orthopaedic Association, a past President of the South African Paediatric Orthopaedic Association and a recipient of the ABC Travelling Fellowship to North America. He serves as visiting orthopaedic surgeon to The Open Air School in Durban.
He has numerous publications in international journals and has presented papers frequently at national conferences.
He is married with three sons and enjoys golf, mountain biking and reading.
