Dr S.S Govender Endocrinologist Physician at Umhlanga Hospital. Dr S.S Govender has been in private practice since 2015. Before he was in state sector since 2001 starting as an Intern at King Edward hospital Durban, then at Mahatma Gandhi and Albert Luthuli as a specialist Physician and Endocrinologist at King Edward. He also worked in the UK from 2003-2004 as a medical officer.
He studied at University of Witwatersrand and went onto college of Medicine of South Africa to complete his physician and endocrinology specialty. He has numerous achievements and been involved in various trials both Locally and Internationally, as investigator for the IMPI Trial and the Clarify registry at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital.
His talent also extends to academic teaching where he was an honorary clinical lecturer at Nelson Mandela School of Medicine from 2009-2015 and for Dept of Endocrinology for undergraduate students from 2012-2015.
