Dr Haroun Mahomed is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Lower Limb Surgery. This means his focus is on surgery to the hip, knee, foot and ankle. His goal is to return patients to their best possible lifestyle and activity level.
Dr Mahomed is dedicated to excellence in Joint Replacements of the hip and knee, and is particularly focused on Robotic surgery and Complex Revision and Infection in Joint Replacements. Dr Mahomed’s Practice is always at the forefront of Arthroplasty knowledge and advances, and he is currently one of the more experienced Robotic knee surgeons in Durban. He is regularly invited to teach and speak at local and national courses and conferences.
Foot and Ankle surgery include sports injury, trauma and degenerative conditions causing deformities of the foot and ankle.
He trained as an Orthopaedic surgeon in Durban and furthered his training with a Fellowship in Joint replacement surgery in Wales followed by 7 years working in England as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Dr Mahomed returned with his family to Durban in 2015 to take up a Head Clinical Unit post at an Academic training hospital in Durban, Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital. He now works in full time Private practice based at Busamed Gateway and Westville Hospitals in Durban.
