Dr Mark Maritz is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive experience in managing complex lower limb and foot pathologies. He does consultancy on an international platform, and trains surgeons on the new minimally invasive / keyhole surgical techniques, both locally and globally. He regularly presents international courses and congresses on foot and ankle procedures. Dr Maritz’ expertise also includes sport related soft tissue injuries and robotic assisted knee replacements, with Busamed Paardevlei being innovators with this technology in the Helderberg area.
Dr Maritz has fellowship experience in orthopaedics, both locally and internationally, including the prestigious Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital in London. He has held positions as the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics in a busy Durban hospital, as well as the head of the Foot and Ankle unit at Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Orthopaedics. He has been in private practice at Busamed Paardevlei Private Hospital since 2017.
