Dr Lipalo Mokete is a fellowship trained joint replacement surgeon specializing in all aspects of hip and knee reconstructive surgery. He has a wealth of experience relating to first time joint replacement procedures, partial joint replacements and repeat surgery for failed and infected joint replacements.
He is one of the foremost experts on computer assisted joint replacement surgery in South Africa and he is experienced in patient specific knee replacement surgery and modern techniques in hip replacement surgery including minimally invasive anterior approach.
Dr Mokete is the first Robotic Joint Replacement certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in Africa and he joins a select group of Surgeons in leading institutions in North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia who are able to offer this technology.
He is active in the affairs of the joint replacement community of South Africa in his capacity as the Secretary of the South African Arthroplasty Society. He is a Lecturer and College examiner in Orthopaedics and his research interests include new bearing technologies in joint replacements.
