Dr Mvambo-Madubela is born and bred from Mthatha in Eastern Cape, married and a mother of two.
She had an interest in medicine at the age of 13 years and this led her to pursue an undergrad degree in Medicine in 2001. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery Degree from the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape, Mthatha in 2006. Thereafter, attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal and obtained A Fellow of the College of Physicians of SA with The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in 2015.
During her registrar training she found a special interest and passion in autoimmune and rheumatic diseases. While working in the Department of Geriatrics, she further found a new interest and passion in Geriatric Medicine. She obtained a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine of the College of Physicians of SA in 2018.
Dr Mvambo-Madubela completed and obtained a Master of Medicine Degree through the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2018. Thereafter, completed her fellowship in training and obtained a certificate for Rheumatology subspecialty in July 2020.
Her passions and visions are to strive to be an excellent doctor in patient care and management. To excel in specialised medical care supported by comprehensive research and education. To fully utilise her skills, training, experience and excel in service delivery. Her main interest is in the management of systemic lupus erythematous, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, spending time with her family and reading books. She is also passionate about living a healthy lifestyle, exercising, and striving to be a fit mom.
