Dr Jehron Pillay is a Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon, who started his full-time private practice on Monday, 06 th January 2020 at Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital.
Dr Pillay qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005. Prior to specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery, he trained in general surgery and has experience in trauma and critical care.
His key areas of expertise include aortic, coronary and valvular surgery as well as major surgeries of the lungs, oesophagus, diaphragm and chest wall.
Dr Pillay is actively involved in research and development in his field and works closely in association with the European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the University of the Free State.
He has specific interests in educational development for Cardiothoracic Surgery, Simulation, Surgery for heart failure, Surgery for drug resistant tuberculosis, and is passionate about community health.
