Dr. Rajah completed his undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate training in Orthopaedic surgery at the University of Natal. He thereafter completed a fellowship in Upper Limb Surgery in Dublin, Ireland.
In 1999, he entered private practice as part of the BMR Orthopaedics group practice.
He has a super-specialized practice focus on surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist/hand.
He has a particular interest in using modern techniques for shoulder and elbow joint replacement surgery, and keyhole surgery to treat sports and tendon injuries at the shoulder.
He has served as the president of the South African Orthopaedic Association (2018-2019), president of the Society of South African Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons (2020-2022),and is the current President of the African Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons.
Outside of orthopaedic surgery, he is passionate about his country, sport (he supports the Proteas, the Springboks, and Arsenal Football Club), and his family.
