About

Dr Nivadh Ramsunder completed his MBChB (WSU) in 2011 and his Post Graduate training as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2021. He obtained his FCOG (SA) and MMED (O&G) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He also possesses a Diploma in Obstetrics. He is passionate about the prevention of cervical cancer and his dissertation focused on the young patient with cervical cancer.
Dr. Ramsunder’s appointments have been at the following institutions: RK Khan Hospital, King Edward VIII Hospital, Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital & Edendale Hospital, where his focus was teaching peers, medical students, nurses, interns and registrars. He is also an Honorary Lecturer at UKZN.
Dr Ramsunder’s special interests include:

Obstetrics – low and high-risk pregnancy
Pelvic pain
Reproductive medicine including infertility and polycystic ovarian syndrome
Gynaecological Malignancies, especially invasive and pre-invasive lesions of the cervix

Dr Ramsunder enjoys spending time with his family, with a special interest in community health care, being a regular at several medical camps and community outreach programs.

Dr Ramsunder strives to ensure every woman receives the appropriate care, information, respect, patience, understanding and comfort they deserve when visiting his practice, which is contracted to most medical aids.
