Dr Irshad Siddi Ganie is a distinguished medical professional with a diverse and accomplished career in the field of medicine. He embarked on his academic journey at the University of Natal, where he completed his undergraduate studies, earning his MBBCh degree in 2003.

Dr Siddi Ganie’s commitment to his medical calling led him to one year of intensive internship at King Edward Hospital, where he gained invaluable hands-on experience in various medical disciplines. Following this, he dedicated himself to community service at Addington Hospital, providing healthcare to those in need and further honing his clinical skills.

Dr Siddi Ganie’s passion for neurology and brain health led him to pursue specialised training. Continuing his pursuit of medical excellence, Dr Siddi Ganie embarked on a rigorous residency programme in Neurology at Grey's Hospital (Pietermaritzburg) and Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital (Durban). During this period, he developed a deep understanding of the complexities of neurology practice and patient care.

He completed a Neurology Fellowship with the College of Medicine South Africa.

Currently, Dr Siddi Ganie is a practicing Neurologist at Busamed Gateway Private Hospital. He is a member of the Neurological Association of South Africa, South African Headache Society as well as a member of the International Headache Society.

His keen interest in stroke medicine has led him to play a pivotal role in advancing acute stroke care within the hospital, including the development of a comprehensive acute stroke protocol for the emergency treatment of stroke patients.
