Dr van den Berg has been in private practice in Somerset West for the last 30 years, where he established an Orthopaedic practice which specialises in Knee & Hip replacement (Arthroplasty) surgery. Arthroplasty procedures constitute the majority of surgical procedures performed by Dr van den Berg.
He regularly attends local and international Orthopaedic congresses, workshops, and masterclasses.
Handheld Robotic Knee Replacement surgery has been his main interest for the last 4 years.
He has attended Robotic workshops both locally and internationally in the United Kingdom, USA, Dubai and Turkey. He has also presented talks of local contribution and experience.
More than 350 Handheld Robotic Knee Replacements have been performed at the Busamed Paardevlei Arthroplasty unit.
Early results are extremely promising.
