My name is Nobuhle Mthonti, and I recently underwent an emergency C-section on January 3, 2024, at Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital. I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both myself and my newborn baby boy.

On the day of my emergency C-section, your expertise and dedication were evident as you delivered my healthy baby boy. However, the journey did not end there. Following the delivery, I experienced seizures, leading to the critical decision to place me on ECMO life support. From that point onwards, my journey to recovery became a collective effort, and I am sincerely grateful for the exceptional care I received.

I regained consciousness on January 14, only to find myself in the hands of a compassionate and skilled medical team. Dr. Birdsey, Dr. Langazana, Dr. Shambu Maharaj, Dr. Hailey, and Dr. H Staub, your guidance and expertise have been invaluable throughout this challenging period. Dr. Hailey, your support as my psychologist has played a significant role in my mental well-being during this time.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to the FSP team, my physiotherapist, and the general team of nurses who have shown unwavering dedication and professionalism in caring for both myself and my son. The kindness and support from Ward Administrator Khumbu, her colleagues, and Jaermyn from IT have not gone unnoticed and have added a comforting touch to my recovery journey.

I am overjoyed to share that my son was discharged on January 12, a testament to the excellent care he received during his stay at Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital. Although I am still on the road to full recovery, the progress I have made is due in no small part to the exceptional care provided by each member of the medical team.

Words cannot adequately express my gratitude for the outstanding care, compassion, and support I have received at Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital. Thank you for going above and beyond in ensuring the well-being of both myself and my son. Your dedication to your profession has made a profound impact on our lives, and we will forever be grateful.
