On the 7th April 2024, my husband rushed me to hospital with a blood sugar reading of 28.3 (Never diagnosed diabetic). From the minute we walked in Trauma Nurse Theresa was phenomenal. She immediately took charge, got me hooked up, and attended to every little detail, explaining what she's doing, and why.

As a first time diabetic (diagnosed in the day), everything was daunting and scary, but she assured me and looked after me very, very well. Then the 2nd angel was when I was admitted to the medical ward 11B, and there was Milly. What a breath of fresh air during what felt like the darkest day. Milly would check in, bring me tea when she saw I was a bit down, make jokes to cheer me up, and really made my 3 day stay bearable. Theresa (Trauma/ER) and Milly (Medical Ward 11B) a HUGE thank you for your pure hearts, your passion, dedication, commitment and overall absolutely beautiful personalities, unbeknownst to you, you brought me out of that dark space after my diabetes diagnosis. I went home with a positive attitude to take on this new journey.

I will remember all your guidance and advice.
