Dr J Bakunzi graduated for his MBchB from Medunsa in 2010. In 2017, he obtained a Diploma in Ophthalmology at the College of Ophthalmologists, later completing his fellowship in Ophthalmology. He completed his master’s in medicine in the year 2023 at Sefako Makgotho Science University.
He is the head of Clinical Unit of Ophthalmology at Harry Gwala Regional Hospital. He specializes in refractive cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery, providing expert care in both adults and children.
Dr J Bakunzi practices at Busamed Harrismith Private Hospital as a Sessional Ophthalmologist and consults every first and third Saturdays of the month.
