About

Ntobeko Thabethe is a Clinical Technologist in Cardiology, who is currently working with the hospital on a sessional basis.

Ntobeko was born in Isipingo, Durban. He grew up in a small village called Gingindlovu, KZN, and later relocated to Empangeni, KZN. He attended Tugela Primary School and Isandlwana High School.

He commenced his studies at the Durban University of Technology for both his National Diploma and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Clinical Technology, specializing in Cardiology. He received training in his field of work at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital in Durban, and at Greys Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. The training involved invasive and non-invasive diagnostic, and interventional aspects of cardiology whereby he was exposed to working with cardiologists, cardiology fellows, as well as electrophysiologists.

His medical special field of interest is mainly cardiology due to how non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations as well as interventions are interlinked in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in patients.

Ntobeko also has a great passion for fitness and training, such as running, bodyweight training, cross fit training, high intensity interval training, weight, and strength training. His training sessions are the one time and place where he feels most energized and motivated to conquer anything thrown in his direction.  Ntobeko is also doing consultations at our QwaQwa Rooms.
